Noah's Ark Replica Headed to Summer Olympics
A larger than life Noah's Ark replica is headed to the Summer Olympics this year, provided they raise enough support to make the pilgrimage from The Netherlands to Brazil during the 2016 Olympic Games totalling 5,000 miles. The trip will be live streamed online as the Ark, larger than a football field and able to carry over 5,000 people makes the trip.
The Ark stretches 410 feet long, 95 feet wide and 75 feet tall, it weighs 2,500 tons and will be used at the games to provide social, educational and practical support to the underprivileged citizens of Brazil, and later to follow up countries.
Ruth Graham, daughter of Billy Graham has voiced her support for the Ark and the opportunity to share Christ at the Summer Games releasing the following statement,
"The Ark of Noah team is a multinational team from the United States, the Netherlands and Brazil supported by many Christian organizations around the globe," said Graham. "They are eager to bring the Gospel message by bringing theArk across the Atlantic Ocean to Brazil. This is an enormous challenge God has called them to and I encourage support of this calling."
Legendary singer Pat Boone has also gotten behind the efforts going so far as to post a YouTube video and asking others to join him in supporting the efforts to get the Ark to Brazil and then on to the United States.
