100,000 people hear about Christ through Steve McQueen movie
Logos Post News Desk - Thousands heard the gospel of Jesus Christ last night through a special film shown at box offices around the country, Steve McQueen: American Icon.
The film was produced and promoted by evangelist Greg Laurie who wanted to reach people through a former American icon with the message of Jesus. According to Laurie over 100,000 people came out to see the film and because of the success, two more nights of showings have been announced by the evangelist.
"While most other movies are made to entertain, I wanted Steve McQueen: American Icon to entertain and bring the gospel to many people who have never heard of Jesus. That’s why we do what we do every day."
For those two young to know, Terence Steven "Steve" McQueen was an American actor and nicknamed "The King of Cool", as a cultural icon of the '60's and '70's. He came to Christ later in his life and now his story is being told around the world.
Laurie is now calling on believers to pray like never before for the opportunity presented to the ministry to show this film in two additional encore presentations.
"So what should you do between now and then? Pray. Pray hard, and pray often for someone that doesn’t know the Lord, and then invite them to go see Steve McQueen: American Icon on October 10 or October 19. After you pray, and invite, bring them to the theater, offer to buy them popcorn, and really do whatever it takes to get them there, because what is more important than the salvation of a soul?"
