Missions school to focus on finishing the Great Commission
By Logos Post News Desk
(Buffalo, NY) Over 3 billion people around the world have never heard the gospel. A new effort is underway to change those statistics. To answer this need, a new school of missions is preparing to train, equip, and send missionaries into unreached areas with the goal of finishing the Great Commission in our generation.
Ethnos School of Mission is opening its doors for the first training school this fall outside of Buffalo, NY with a focus on preparing believers for ministry in the marketplace, media, and missions. Ethnos is a Greek word meaning nation, people, caste, or tribe.
“Our passion is to see the Great Commission finished in our generation,” said Kyle Patterson Director of Ethnos School of Mission. “Our school will specifically equip men and women to bring the gospel to bear through media ministry, marketplace outreach, and global missions.”
The school believes now is the time for an even more focused effort on finishing the Great Commission and has organized a focused effort on training and equipping future leaders with the tools and resources they need to impact the world for Christ. Graduates are invited to join staff and continue on as a full-time missionary.
The 6 month residential program will begin this September and will include a mix of theologically rich courses with practical hands on ministry experience including 1 month outreach in the Asia-Pacific region. Additionally students have the opportunity to experience God together in community and worship each morning and evening. The marketplace track serves as a fellows program and includes a monthly day-long retreat/encounter to serve marketplace leaders to advance the cause of Christ by helping to fund and finish the Great Commission. Students ages 18 and over are encouraged to apply at the organization’s website www.ethnosmissions.org.
Upon completion of the school, students have the opportunity to join staff and give themselves fully to the work of missions, whether media and/or church planting and evangelism.
“We’re excited about this opportunity to give ourselves to the work of the Lord in the context of a focused missions community,” said Patterson. "We encourage people who believe God has called them into missions ministry to take the step of faith and apply for admission at Ethnos. We promise you will never be the same."
Enrollment is now open for a limited time to the school. Its limited space is expected to fill up quickly. Spring school dates will also be announced later this fall.
