Story Time: A Chat with Dr. Johnny Parker (and it’s all about YOU)
By Nancy Carmichael
“Once upon a time”…
And now I have you hooked. Why? You have no idea what’s coming next… It could be life changing. Or it could just end up as fuel for a Facebook rant about lost time you’ll never get back (tell me you’ve never done this). You just don’t know. And therein lays the beauty, my Logospost friend, because one thing you do know is this: That timeless intro means I have a story to tell… and there’s something about a story that we can’t resist.
Especially when that story is about you.
I recently had the chance to talk with Dr. Johnny Parker, Leadership Consultant, Executive Coach (to a good chunk of the NFL, NBA, PGA & WNBA for starters), who loves to help people develop healthy lives and strong relationships… and would you believe it, he wrote a book about your life story. Really. I’m not kidding!
Now I’ve really got you hooked.
Usually when we think of a story, it’s after the fact. The big fish that got away. That time you did that crazy/amazing thing and it went viral. But the story Dr. Parker is talking about isn’t finished yet. In fact, it’s still being written. Because it’s your story, and you are living it. Right now. Maybe you like the plot so far, and wouldn’t change a thing; or maybe it’s not exactly a fairy tale, and you wish you could rewrite it. While you can’t revise the past, there’s a whole lot of blank space that is yet to be filled. And a good ending gives new meaning to the events leading up to it (even the regrettable ones).
What if you could turn the page to your story, and have a say in setting its trajectory NOW, before it happens?
That’s why I think you might want to tune in to our conversation about Parker’s book, “Turn the Page”. After all, we are talking about your story. And don’t you want to know how it ends?
