New film forthcoming documents ministry to witches, psychics and occult
Logos Post News Desk - A Christian ministry known for healing, signs, and wonders has just announced a new documentary film covering their outreach to witches, psychics, and those involved in the occult.
Global Awakening, a revival network ministry led by Randy Clark, the man accredited with starting the Toronto Blessing, has announced their latest project, "Witch City and the Children of Light," a documentary film covering the ministry's outreach to the Haunted Happenings Festival in Salem, MA. Each year the the ministry sends their students to minister to the attendees of the festival, this year they sent their film producer and documented exactly what took place.
"The festival is a celebration of the occult, paganism, witchcraft, and the macabre," writes Global Awakening. "There are psychics and mediums on site offering for-pay readings, alongside our students who are offering free 'spiritual readings.' It is an opportunity for us to practice the prophetic, healing prayer, and leading people to salvation in an atmosphere that is hostile to Christianity."
When the group of students went this year, Global Awakening also sent their staff video producer to film the ministry. "The result is an eye opening and encouraging look at how to bring the Kingdom of God to this group of outcast, marginalized people."
"For many people, “alternative” lifestyles can seem intimidating, confusing, or a lost cause. We take an unflinching look at how to reach people through authentic love and the undeniable presence of God."
DJ Peltier of Generation 333 was one of the ministry trip's leaders. He commented on on a recent interview with Global Awakening said basically get ready to see God show up and show off as Christians step out in ministry to all people. "People can expect to see God show up and show off in what the world and even Christians would look at as "one of the darkest places or events" in America. That could very well be, but if that is the case than you will definitely see that we, Christians are called to be light and in the midst of the darkest dark the light always, has and will shine the brightest!"
The film is set to release July 15 as a digital download and streaming online, on Roku, Apple TV, iOS, and Android. You can pre-order now to get a discount, and it will stream for free for 24 hours after the premiere event.
The film's producer Chris Brands said what makes the film so unique is the first hand, on the spot testimonies pointing to Jesus Christ.
"What’s unique about Witch City is that we got to capture so much right as it was happening. It’s not after the fact testimonies, everything that is talked about is happening right in front of you on the screen. And then as you watch these things happen you also get to hear interview responses about what was happening internally. You get to see how words of knowledge, prophecy, and healing is given and then you get to hear tips from those who did it. I think this film is not only entertaining and inspiring but from a practical stand point it could help a lot of people step out and take risks for God. Sometimes just having a practical example to watch is all you need to gain confidence to go do it yourself."
