Worried? Scared? It's time to put your warrior boots on: Lisa Whittle provides tools for living fearless in a fear-filled world

From bombings to bullying, the world has us on pins and needles—afraid for our children, fearful for ourselves, unsure of how to make the best decisions for our families in the midst of global unrest. In her new book, Put Your Warrior Boots On: Walking Jesus Strong, Once and for All (Harvest House Publishers, June 2017), inspirational author and speaker Lisa Whittle encourages readers to experience fearless living in these frightful times through trusting in Jesus.

“The intensity of the world requires an equal intensity of faith,” writes Whittle. “The radically depraved condition of the world requires a radical survival strategy. This is not doom; it is hope. When we dedicate ourselves to Him, He makes us into the warriors He created us to be.”

Whittle wants readers to experience the joy and release of walking in the authority of God and rising to their spiritual potential. In Put Your Warrior Books On, she prepares them with the tools they need to confirm truth and identify anti-biblical messages, defend their faith without letting personal pride interfere, and to outfit their days to support their faith so they do not grow weary.

"The Scripture is full of examples of how we can live above the world's worries and fears with strong faith," said Whittle.

Whittle believes the Bible calls us higher, to live in victory, and not under the tyranny of the world's values and constant influx of fear. As everything shakes, Christians can stand.

"I was hearing these conversations that were happening over and over again on social media. People were in a panic. Even brothers and sisters in Christ, having these conversation of not knowing how they are going to make it and raise their kids," explained Whittle. "But I know God has called us to live better than this. This is not what God has called us to. God is the authority over all the world. That has not changed one bit. He has not relinquished his position, not for one second. As believers we are called to walk in this authority. So many of us are living below our spiritual potential."

As Whittle observed the propensity of her friends, neighbors, and Christian community living below what Christ has done for us, she decided now was the time to call fellow believers to arms, and to live the truth of the gospel.

"This is a call to rise to our spiritual potential. It's a call to take on a different way of living. So many of us are living day by day, waiting for the other shoe to drop and more bad news. Then we react to it, see what happens, and red knuckle our way through. But we can rise to our spiritual potential and prepare for what happens without fear and in faith."

So if mainstream media has got you cowering in fear and if global terrorism has you up in arms, now is the time to stand in faith, and begin confessing the promises of God over your home, family, children, job, and more. It's time to put your figurative "warrior boots on" and know and live what the Bible calls us to.

"When I remember that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever and the truth that we have everything we need for life and godliness and to walk strong, when I remember that, it brings me peace."
