Bible Reading App Impacts Super Bowl

Players from both the Patriots and the Falcons weighed in on the impact of the Bible in their lives leading up to the big game yesterday. A promotion by the You Version Bible App, with an estimated 250 million downloads from around the world, interviewed players from both teams who commented on the impact the Bible has made on their lives prior to Sunday's game.

Devin McCourty of the New England Patriots was one of the players interviewed. He commented, "I did a finding God at the workplace (devotional). There's just nothing better than when I wake up in the morning, I just grab my phone, login to the app and read it before I get out of the bed."

Patrick DiMarco of the Atlanta Falcons also has been influenced by the Bible and the unique ways the You Version app helps people engage in the BIble in a fresh way, utilizing new technology to bring the Bible to more people in more places, "I have a reminder that goes off at 6:30, boom, Patrick read the Scripture of the day. It's just a really unique way to dig into the word.

The You Version app was developed out of Life.Church, a church planting church out of Oklahoma, led by Craig Groeschel.

"We are humbled by how many people use the Bible App on a regular basis," said Bobby Gruenewald, Life.Church Innovation Pastor and YouVersion Bible App founder.

"When we decided to make the Bible available as an app, we never could have imagined how much it would revolutionize the way people engage with Scripture."

Matthew Slater of the Patriots, "Being able to use the devotionals at different seasons of my life...has been great and really helpful in my life."
