Presidential Prayer Shield Meetings Conclude at the National Press Club in D.C.
A group of prayer intercessors and leaders gathered in Capitol Hill this week to raise a prayer wall around President-elect Donald Trump and his whole transition team.
Organized by leaders including Lou Engle of The Call and Cindy Jacobs of General’s International, the main agenda according to speaker Lance Wallnau was prophetic intercession for the Trump transition team, for the protection of the family and for the inauguration events coming up next week.
Included in the meeting, held at the National Press Club in Washington D.C., was specific prayers and intercessions made on behalf of America and issues including racial healing in America, the immigration issue, media, inner cities, job creation and more. Different speakers and experts in respective fields were part of the gathering offering their perspectives and insights into a prayer strategy for the upcoming election.
According to Wallnau, who posted periodic updates on his Periscope account, “Where we are right now is a window. My biggest concern is we only have 24 months before Congress is up for reelection. So what the president does is singularly impacting on the balance of power. The left is hell bent on destroying Donald Trump and impeaching him. You can see this with the what the media is doing.”
Wallnau highlighted what’s been happening in the media and the double standard that he believes is evident in reporting, “The media is continuing to do its lynch job on the credibility of Donald Trump, then when Trump hits back, they act like adolescents, having a meltdown, "hissy fit", calling it un-presidential.
Author and Speaker Lana Vawser also attended the 4 day event in Washington. She encouraged believers to join her in decreeing, Psalm 65:7 over the upcoming inauguration for President-elect Donald Trump.
Psalm 65:7 says, “who stilled the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations.
Wallnau continued in his Periscope update, “The idea of having a prayer shield for him is really important right now. The idea of thinking that everything is going to be fine and he is going to get two terms and the countries going to recover is dangerously presumptuous.”
Wallnau, following the event called the church to continue mobilizing in prayer and not back down during this upcoming inauguration.
“If the church doesn’t continue to mobilize in prayer, and mobilize actually electorally so that the congressmen who are going to come under pressure, they need to know that people are standing with them, a grassroots movement to shift our nation.”
Wallnau called for a grassroots mobilization on behalf of our nation right now,
“It needs to be a grassroots Christian movement that needs to rise up. There is no method to do this right now. Psalm 45 is the prayer we are going to pray. Your right hand discovers your enemies and the arrows are sharp against the enemies of the king.”
