President-elect Donald Trump hosted a news conference at Trump Tower today, broadcast live on Facebook, where he highlighted the work he has been doing behind the scenes, building his team and assuring the American people of the work and vision of their incoming President.

Pence opened the meeting calling the fake news (propagated by BuzzFeed and CNN) as irresponsible, "I have long been a supporter of a free and independent press and I always will be. But with freedom comes responsibility.

The irresponsible decision of a few news organization to run with a false and unsubstantiated report, when most news organization resisted the temptation to propagate  can only be attributed to media bias and an attempt to demean the incoming administration.

And the American people are sick and tired of it. But today, we'll get back to real news and real facts," said Mike Pence. Pence then introduced Trump and talked of the honor to stand shoulder to shoulder with Trump and the team he is building to lead this nation into greatness again.

Trump proceeded to talk about the highlights of his time building up to his inauguration and wins for the nation of America including

  • The Fiat/Chrysler plant being built in the United States.
  • Ford halted plans to move factory to Mexico and will build in Michigan.
  • Trump called on General Motors to follow suite.
  • He called on drug companies to make their pharmaceuticals here in the States.
  • He mentioned the F-35 and F-18 airplanes that are "millions of dollars over budget."
  • "We're going to do some big things, we're going to get the costs way down, and we're going to make the planes better, and get some competition going on."
  • Jack Ma, Chinese businessman was mentioned about their meeting regarding job creation in the United States.

Trump closed his opening comments by highlighting the momentum his administration is building,

"There is a great spirit going on right now. Many people are saying they have never seen anything like this."

Trump talked of his efforts to build jobs in our nation saying,

"I will be the greatest job producer that God ever created. I am very proud of what we've done and we've haven't even started yet."

Trump described his work and administration as a movement that has started and surprised people.

"It's a movement the world has never seen before. Something people didn't expect."

He proceeded to highlight the strong team of leaders joining his cabinet and the priority he is placing on helping veterans.

"Veterans have been treated terribly, working to change. Getting top doctors involved, "We're going to straighten out the VA for our veterans. Trump has decided on talent to lead the VA.

We think this election will in time straighten this out for good, I think the veterans have been treated very unfairly."

He then took a number of questions about fake news, relations with Russia and his business interests. His attorney came up and shared about the plans of the Trump organization to limit Donald's influence and access to be involved, as well as handing the reigns to his sons and a close adviser to run the company.

As President he stated his rights to continue the businesses but for the sake of appearances, he is choosing to set them aside during his presidency.

"I could actually run my business and run the government at the same time. I could do this as President, but I don't like how that looks. I could. I could do a very good job, but I don't want to do that."
