Church Shooter Sentenced to Death Penalty for Killing 9
22 year old Dylann Roof has been sentenced to the death penalty for killing 9 people inside a Charleston, South Carolina church in 2015.
The self-proclaimed white supremacist walked into the historic African-American congregation, during a prayer meeting, and opened fire killing 9 people.
Roof acted as his own attorney during the sentencing phase, denied any type of psychological issues, did not apologize in any way even after admitting his guilt and the proceeded to tell the jury that he "had to do it."
According to CBN News, "Jury members deliberated for three hours before returning with a decision of the death penalty. Malcolm Graham's sister was killed by Roof and he told reporters that the jury made the right decision.
"There is no room in America's smallest jail cell for hatred, racism and discrimination," he said.
Roof also faces a state trial, where he could be sentenced with the death penalty again."
