Prime Minister Netanyahu Will Speak At UN General Assembly, Meet With President Obama In NYC

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in the United States yesterday and will speak at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City. He will also meet with President Obama.

“PM Netanyahu intends to discuss with President Obama the challenges and opportunities in the Middle East, and the way to advance peace and security,” according to a tweet from the Prime Minister’s office.

“We are in the midst of a very important diplomatic week for the State of Israel,” Prime Minister Netanyahu said in a press conference prior to boarding his flight for the United Sates. “I will present Israel’s case, Israel’s truth, Israel’s justice and also Israel’s heroism- the heroism of our soldiers, our police officers and our citizens, who are waging an uncompromising struggle against brutal terrorism,” he said regarding his planned speech before the UN General Assembly.

Netanyahu also spoke of the need to defeat terrorism on a global level. “I expect from the international community a uniform standard in the war on terrorism,” he said.
