Noah's Ark Replica set to Open July 7
The man behind Answers in Genesis apologetic ministry and the Creation Museum is set to reveal his latest project, a life sized replica of Noah's Ark set to open to the public on July 7.
Ken Ham spoke to the media yesterday at a ribbon cutting and press conference revealing the Ark Encounter, a replica of the ancient ark from the Biblical days of Noah.
Ham was joined on stage by Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Jenean Hampton representing Governor Matt Bevin who voiced her support of the project that is estimated bring over 1 million visitors a year.
"We are so blessed that this great attraction was built in Kentucky, we hope to see millions visit Ark Encounter over the next few years...This is a blessed day. I think God is here today," continued Hampton.
Other elected officials in attendence of the ribbon cutting yesterday included Kentucky State Senator Damon Thayer, State Representative Brian Linder, Mayor Rick Skinner of Williamstown and Trey Grayson, former Sec. of State.
Ham thanked many people involved in the project including is parents for their spiritual legacy, his wife Mally, Dr. John C. Whitcomb, coauthor of the Genesis Flood along with his partners, friends and associates.
Ham thanked his board of directors for stepping out in faith even though they didn't have the funds of the expertise to do it, "We need men of faith like these," stated Ham.
The Ark is engineered to be an exact replica according to the Scripture. In comparison the size of the structure is 2 school buses wide, 3 giraffes stacked high, 1.5 football fields in length and 483 semi-trailers in volume.
