What Exactly Is Pokemon Go? Michael Snyder Breaks It Down
Whatever your thoughts on “Pokemon Go” are, one thing’s for sure. Some players have been caught in some pretty bizarre situations lately. One woman got stuck in a tree in a cemetery in New Jersey. Another man sunk in mud waist deep while playing the game. Still another crashed into a police car.
What’s up with this latest craze? Is it innocent fun or something more sinister? Former Washington D.C. attorney and author Michael Snyder has some thoughts in his comprehensive article. He uses a variety of sources, explains what “Pokemon” actually means and discusses how playing the seemingly “innocent game” can actually open the door to the occult.
Even churches have begun to take part in the craze, hosting “Pokestops” and gyms on their campuses. What’s more, a Master’s of Divinity student at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas hosted a “luring” party where they claim six students found Christ on the campus as a result of searching for Pokemon. The article was featured a Southern Baptist Convention publication. Shocking!
Whatever the case, pray about your decision, especially if you’re thinking of exposing your children to this “game.” As always, do your research and just because it’s wildly popular, dosen’t mean it’s right in the eyes of God.
