Prayer Watch: Zika Virus

Prayer Watch: Zika Virus

Growing concern over the spread of the Zika Virus has prompted at least one ministry to focus their weekly prayer watch on the virus that has the concern Mahesh Chavda, who along with his wife Bonnie are founders of Chavda Ministries International out of Charlotte, NC has announced a special prayer focus for their weekly prayer watch for the Zika Virus this Friday, June 3.

The announcement amd call to prayer comes as even the Olympic games being held in Brazil are being threatened by the virus,

"There is rising concern about the possible spread of the Zika virus from Latin American nations to the U.S. and other nations. There are even suggestions to cancel the Summer Olympics in Brazil, fearing that thousands of athletes from around the world may get infected and carry it back to their nations.
The Zika virus is spread by the Aedes mosquito. The biggest concern is the virus during pregnancy can result in babies being born with underdeveloped brains. This week a mother gave birth to a baby in NYC with birth defects from the Zika virus. Bind back the spread of the Zika virus. Pray that this disease will be contained and eliminated."

The ministry is encouraging believers to agree in prayer with God's word including:

Psalm 91:10-11, “No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.”

Numbers 16:48, “And he stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped.”
