Jay Sekulow Speaks At UN Against BDS Movement
In an article written on Tuesday for Fox News, he expressed his dismay with the new B.D.S movement. This refers to the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel. Sekulow wrote “make no mistake about it: the unambiguous goal of the international BDS movement is the elimination of the State of Israel.”
Jay Sekulow, an attorney, is Chief Counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice based in Washington, D.C.
“The fact is that activities and events fostering an environment of intimidation and marginalization of Jewish citizens have seen a marked upswing on college and university campuses around the country, but the issue is not limited to the academic arena,” he wrote. He spoke to the UN General Assembly on Monday and said this is “unacceptable.”
But this goes beyond just college campuses. It also includes the harassment of Israeli businesses, discrimination against Israeli universities and travel boycotts against Israel.
He co-sponsored an international conference in conjunction with Israel to resist the BDS movement called “Building Bridges, Not Boycotts.” The conference was hosted by the Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon.
He thinks we should tackle the issue of BDS now, before it escalates.
Sekulow is currently running an online petition to defend Israel from such attacks which, as of the time of this writing, has over 125,000 signatures.

He also mentioned a website designed to raise awareness about the issue: www.endbds.com In the “Resources” section on the website, concerned citizens can find fact sheets, videos, links and can fill out an incident report if they’ve been exposed to discrimination.
