DEVELOPING: Alligator Reportedly Drags Toddler Into Lake At Disney World Resort
Authorities are searching for a 2-year old boy at a Disney World resort after he was reportedly dragged into a lake by an alligator. This happened at the Grand Floridian Resort in Orlando, Florida, according to the Associated Press.
“We have a bit of sad news to share with you at this point. At about 9 p.m. last evening, there was a 911 call that went into the…emergency services office regarding a 2-year old child that had been attacked by an alligator,” said Sheriff Jerry Demings. “At that point emergency services responded to the area in conjunction with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.”
“At this time, we have in excess of 50 law enforcement personnel here at the scene who are out actively searching the lake. We have two of our marine units on the lake searching for the child,” he said.
Chad Weber, who is with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission also said they have an alligator trapper on the scene.
Sheriff Demings said “as a father, as a grandfather we are going to hope for the best.”
