Rick Joyner Part of Private Meeting with Donald Trump
Rick Joyner, author of "The Final Quest" series and the Founder of MorningStar Ministries and Heritage International Ministries released on his Facebook page details of a private meeting between himself, Donald Trump and at least 5 others presumedly Evangelical/Charismatic leaders. Joyner who is very influential in Charismatic circles and a popular writer on current events and trends left the peivate meeting with a very positive outlook on Trump, stating he had nothing bad to say about the man who has stirred much controversy and entertainment in this election season.
"First he was very personable, and hospitable, going out of his way to make everyone comfortable," wrote Joyner concerning Trump. Joyner and a number of leaders within the prophetic/charismatic circles of the body of Christ have been more outspoken concerning government affairs than perhaps in past years when pastors feared losing their tax exempt status for engaging in politics.
"If you're wanting dirt, or negatives, these will disappoint you," continued Joyner who stated Teump exuded a confidence and boldness that Joyner believes every successful leader has. He alluded to this characteristic as mistaken for pride by onlookers from a far. However Joyner countered that the opposite seemed apparent to him. Trump portrayed what Joyner called a teachable spirit meaning he was humble enough to seek wisdom from others.
Not all Evangelical leaders have been as positive in their response to Trump including prolific Christian author and Pastor Max Lucado who used his platform to speak against Trump and warn Christians against voting for him, though it is unknown if he has ever met him in person.
Other leaders including international speaker and consultant Lance Wallnau have compared Trump to a modern day Cyrus who God used to rebuild his temple and return the Jews to Jerusalem after exile. Cyrus was a Gentile King with limited knowledge of God but one whom God sovereignly chose to do his will for his people.
It remains to be seen what is ahead this election season. One thing is certain at this point, by the looks of it, there will be much to talk and pray about.
