Terror Suspect Dead in Berlin
The Christmas Market terror suspect was killed this morning in a shootout in Milan, Italy after fleeing Berlin, Germany, travelling through France and arriving in Italy. During a traffic stop, Italian police requested identity papers from 24 year old suspect Anis Amri at around 3:15am upon suspicion of burglary. He instead pulled out a .22 caliber gun and opened fire, injuring one police office before he was shot dead himself, according to Italian police.
CNN also reports that new video footage of the suspect shows him pledging allegiance to ISIS.
According to German authorities Amri was on their watch list of most dangerous Islamists in the country just months before carrying out this attack in Berlin. He was previously imprisoned for four years after carrying out an arson attack on a school in Italy while living there in 2011.
