2017: What the Prophets Are Saying
For the last 18 years the Apostolic Counsel of Prophetic Elders has been meeting annually since Dr. C. Peter Wagner initiated the first meeting. Today, Cindy Jacobs serves as Chairman of this international fellowship of ministries.
Jim Goll, one of the council's founding members hosted a webinar yesterday and released some of the words from the recent meeting for the sake of building up the body of Christ and revealing Jesus in a fresh way. In his introduction to a number of the prophetic words he released this week, he writes that the prophetic council he is releasing to the Body of Christ is according to Revelation 19:10, the spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus.
"Revelation 19:10 states: “The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Therefore, we wholeheartedly believe that the overriding theme, goal and vision of any biblically based New Testament prophetic ministry should be to make known the Person and ways of Christ Jesus."
Goll explains that every word and vision should point people to Christ,
"And while a prophetic ministry may often be accompanied by revelatory words, signs and wonders, healings and miracles, a true prophet will always seek to champion the Person of Christ, the gift-giver, more than the gifts. Because God’s will is for each disciple of Christ to be conformed to the image of Christ, we believe, as well, that God calls those who represent His will, voice, and ways to be living testimonies of Christ-like integrity, lived out within the context."
Cindy Jacobs, Chairman of the Council believes 2017 is the year of breakthrough and a new season of revival,
"My people are entering into an overcoming season that will produce great breakthroughs. For the enemy has come in like a flood, but I, the Lord, am releasing great victories! I will stem the tide of violence. I will bring peace to the land. I will bring an awakening! I will release revival!”
Stacey Campbell, a founder and facilitator of the Canadian Prophetic Council and serves as an honorary member of the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders stated she believes God is calling for John 17 unity in the church resulting in global missions thrust,
"There will be major reconciliations between denominations, nations, and peoples. It begins in the church. A John 17 Movement will come forth answering the prayer of Jesus. Many streams will flow together to see a river of refreshing, renewal and revival spread across the earth.
This will result in many new churches being planted and new missions movements targeting the unreached parts of the earth."
Stephen Springer, Senior Leader of Global Presence Ministries in Madison, WI believes 2017 is a year for young people to be raised up and released into ministry,
"Teen-age evangelists are going to move onto the scene. Many will openly preach on their High School campuses with signs and wonders following.
Seventeen is an important age in the US. At age 17 one can enlist in the armed forces, apply for a pilot’s license, and, in some cases, obtain a license to drive a car. There is going to be a move of God among 17 year olds. It will extend from a transitional generation, those moving into adulthood, to the middle generation. Fathers and Mothers in the faith are now on the scene to mentor and tutor these emerging "Burning Ones” and to heal the orphan spirit. It is a time of the “Joining of the Generations.”
Goll is hosting a number of webinars leading up to 2017 releasing more encouraging words for the Church leading into the New Year.
