BREAKING: President-Elect Trump Selects Georgia Rep. Tom Price As Secretary Of Health And Human Services
President-elect Trump announced today that he nominated Georgia Congressman Tom Price to be the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
“Chairman Price, a renowned physician, has earned a reputation for being a tireless problem solver and the go-to expert on healthcare policy, making him the ideal choice to serve in this capacity,” President-elect Trump said in a statement. “He is exceptionally qualified to shepherd our commitment to repeal and replace Obamacare and bring affordable and accessible healthcare to every American. I am proud to nominate him as Secretary of Health and Human Services.”
Price is an orthopedic surgeon who earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan. He completed his residency training at Emory University, where he later taught as an assistant professor, according to his official biography. After spending nearly two decades in private practice, he later transitioned to public office.
In addition, he currently serves on the House Committee of Ways and Means.
